Singapore Elections : Key Issues

  • Survey done by UMR, an Australian research company.
  • Sample size 522
  • Key survey result : PAP 61%, Opposition 39% (vs 67/33 in 2006 elections). Personally, I think it will be less than 60%. At a dinner last night with friends (7 of us), we traded to an equilibrium price of 57%.
  • Maximum margin of error plus/minus 3.6% at the 90% confidence level

Happy with the results. 60.14% is strong signal to PAP that there is a lot of room for improvement. I think the message has been well received by the Govt judging by the comments towards the end of the GE and post-. To begin with, expectations of more than 6 seats to the Opposition were too optimistic I think.

Only dark cloud is TPL is now an MP. Geez.
