Garth Stein : The Art of Racing in the Rain

Outstanding book about life and overcoming adverstity, through the eyes of Enzo the dog. Will touch your core and move you to tears.

There is no dishonor in losing the race ... there is only dishonor in not racing because you are afraid to lose.”

My Rating : 4.5/5

TD - nowadays my hit rate with books is about 10%-20% only. I think it's do with jadedness of aging.

Ryan - they are 2 very different books. Racing in the Rain is a book that anyone can relate to. I would suggest you read this first. It is simple yet meaningful reading.

The unique way that this story is told is funny, emotional and an insight into the human world seen from the eyes and mind of a dog. Simply told but rich with observations and intellect that I do believe dogs have. This story is beautifully told and leaves you wondering about your own dog and dogs you have had in your life. If you don't have a dog, perhaps you will feel so much more understanding about the love, faithfullness and loyalty a dog brings to a human.
