鸳鸯蝴蝶 (A West Lake Moment) : Zhou Xun movie

2005 love story starring 周迅 and 陈昆, set in Hangzhou's West Lake . DVD quality stream here. Now I know why 周迅 is such a big star. Watch only if you understand Chinese. Dubbing/subtitles/translation is just not the same thing. [Click on Youtube icon above to launch].

I love this. Very quirky, much fun. Well acted, great script, more than hold its own against any Hugh Grant or Meg Ryan film. I don't know how I missed this when it was first released.

Pandu, I know you spent time in HK. Didn't realize you know Chinese as well.

Some films lose their flavor if you can't understand the original language. This is one of them.

I speak Cantonese well, Mandarin only little, but I can usually get the gist of the conversation. Everyone in my family likes such movies, so I'm looking forward to watching it.

OK I hope I don't let you down and you enjoy this it as much as I have. The Shu Qi one earlier is very good too.
