- One of best CL game ever; right up with Liverpool Istanbul and MU Camp Nou + Turin 1999. Perhaps the best 1-sided game ever. Crowds love to see heros fall, and fallen heroes rise. Here we had both.
- Barca 2 - Chelsea 2; Busquets, Iniesta, Ramires + Torres in that order. Chelsea 3 attempts, 2 goals.
- Possession - Barca 84% Chelsea 16%. Game played almost exclusively in Chelsea half for the entire game. It was a siege, not a football game. Forget 4-5-1 or 4-4-2. This was 0-0-10 vs 9-0-0.
- For Chelsea - everything gone wrong but true grit and resilience in the face of adversity won out in the end. Well deserved and congratulations.
- Cahill injured very early on. Like 10 minutes ?
- JT sent off 36th minute. Bloody cheapskate Singtel mio - no half time analysis, replay just shown once so I still do not know what happened. Kneeing someone in the back?
- Chelsea played with make-shift centre halves and 10 men for most of the game against the best attacking team in the world.
- Messi - hit goal frame twice, one a penalty.
- Cech - made many many saves including crucial one from Messi near the end. Massive performance.
- Ramires, Ivanovic, Meireles + JT out of finals in Munich. The former 2 were immense tonight. Ramires = Roy Keane in Turin (= missing link for current MU midfield?)
- Torres - finally, a goal scored right at the end. So the entire 2nd half was nail-biting with Barca attacking relentlessly and Chelsea defending their advantage from the away goal.
- Drogba - could be a solid defender if he was not so good at the other end. I think he was their best defender tonight.
- My Man of the Match : Ramires. Fantastic goal, scored moments after picking up a yellow card that ruled him out of final. Now that's a true team player. Sheer class.
- This is the reason I put up with watching boring game after boring game of football. You never ever know when moments of sheer magic such as this might appear to make it all worthwhile. Tonight ranks right up there with the best I have seen.
- 10 men, 2 goal down, penalty awarded against, 2-2 final score, Chelsea through 3-2 aggregate. Roberto di Matteo is blessed. Over the 2 legs, Chelsea had a lot of luck.
- Now that JT will miss the finals, I really hope a much depleted Chelsea will go on to lift the trophy in Munich.
- Unlike the CL Final last year where I didn't ever feel during the game that MU was going to find a way to beat Barca, somehow with Chelsea teams of recent years you always get the feeling that they have the resilience to get through. There is much to admire about this Chelsea team. Their players always show up for the big games; they don't go walkabout unlike some MU players.
- Makes it even more important now for Arsenal to hang on to that precious 3rd place.
