- Been playing around with SaxoTrader 2.5 demo. Has everything I need except for bond yields. Execution, risk management and live P&L tracking tools, live price feeds (free for the stuff I trade), charting, news, all rolled into 1 platform.
- From what I can see so far, all for zero cost. Only pay commission charges for trades executed, and no requirement for minimum volume per month either.
- Credit risk on margin funds placed with Saxobank. But I think the funds go into a trustee account with HSBC, and the local platform provider is regulated by MAS, which provides me with some comfort. Likely that I will go with Saxo.
- Here's an example of a chart produced by the demo. As far as I can see, no trade signal for EUR/USD. This is in the middle of nowhere now. Big range.
- [Seems I can't have weekly and daily charts on same window, the way I like it. Minor drawback I can live with for an annual savings of more than SGD 33,000 over Thomson Reuters Eikon].

TS, also on the Reuters/Eikon - I'd think the only benefit of Reuters is access to breaking news before most retail folks see it. If that is not important to you, since you are a longer term position trader, a retail platform like Saxo or IG should be more than adequate.
