Eikon again ...

  • Have tried all kinds of workaround. Instead of 1 workbook (filesize 500KB) with multiple sheet tabs (which ran fine under 3000Xtra), I have now split it into 30-40 seperate worksheets (single instrument each) and only keeping 1 tiny worksheet (filesize 24KB) open at a time.
  • Even so, with PC running only Eikon (single program, single worksheet, single instrument, filesize 23KB), all day long I have been getting this kind of problem (see screenshot).
  • WTF !!!! This is really the pits !
  • Anyone got any ideas ? I am almost certain now that it is not my hardware causing the problem.

In a way, I sympathize with Josie Ho. She tried her darnedest to get away from the family, but...

Friend gave me DVD of "Dream Home". Most yucky movie I ever watched. Much regret watching. Anyone who produced, directed and acted in a movie like that does not deserve any sympathy.

Heh :D

My original comment above was actually,
"In a perverse way, I sympathize with Josie Ho."
before I censored myself.

I have not seen much of her work, but the few I have seen are admittedly, unwatchable.
I was thinking and remembering more of her 'rebelling' from her family in the 90s.

What can I say… Piety's a BIATCH!

Oops...
:P

Dream Home is completely, unnecessarily, pointlessly gruesome. You got to watch it man!

How can I pass on a 'recommendation' like that...
:)
And actually, after reading an online review of the film, I am intrigued.
A B-grade slasher on the HK property market. A reverse take on price capitulation and blood in the streets...Hmm...

Will check it out!

sorry to hear your problem not solved ..
when something like that happens again, i.e. incomplete charts, monitor the RAM usage on your PC prior to and during the charting process.
Do a Ctrl-Alt-Del to pull out the Windows Task Manager and look bottom second tab from left "CPU Usage"
It should not be >50%-60% for too long
For my PC, it usually hovers between 0%-18%
I have Reuters 3000 Kobra, 8 Reuters Charts, POwerplus Pro, RM, Firefox, Bank's Inhouse Order system running and my CPU usage is showing between 0% - 16% right now on good old XP Pro with 4 Gb RAM

Thanks. Will monitor. I have almost exactly the same thing running as you have. Before with 3000Xtra no problem. Now replaced by Eikon, problems.

Don - make sure you have a vomit bag handy if you watch. And once you start, make sure you stay with it all the way to the end. The really sick bits are near the end of the movie.

Ahlim - mine most of the time below 10%. When I open a chart it shoots up to around 40% then comes back down again.

ok that sounds alright then
but you need to see when the empty charts come up
what is the prevailing RAM usage % ...
i suspect something is hogging your RAM at the moment you are trying to pull out the charts thats why you get a blank as the RAM usage would probably hit close to 100%
I am assuming your Eikon software is not bloatware ...
If you consistently get below 30% RAM usage you should never have blank screens no matter how many applications you run

Not seen it go much above 50% for more than a few seconds. And certainly not 100%. The max I have seen is around 60-70%.
