Book about author's 53 year old friendship with Paul Newman. Entertaining read, often inspirational. Much to admire about the 2 men and their work in helping others, especially children suffering from cancer; making a difference in the lives of others less fortunate.
Quote (attributed to Paul Newman)
And as you live, you learn that luck is an art, the art of being able to recognize luck when it goes by you—walks by you, or runs by you—and you don’t let it pass you by. Grab it and you are lucky. True luck is not holding the best cards but knowing just when to quit and go home. Good luck is sitting on a sofa on a movie set, as I did, and as you get up and step away from the sofa, a massive light fixture from a ceiling track comes crashing down and lands on the exact spot you just vacated. Good luck is having a fabulous woman in your life for twenty years. I didn’t let her pass me by. I grabbed her and held her and that was great good luck. When you grab a passing script that you know you should let go and it turns out to be a bomb, that’s bad luck because you brought it on yourself.
