Taking a Break from Trading. Back in 2011

Much uncertainty in my mind about markets. Some charts are showing end of prevailing trends (eg AUD). Others still looking OK (eg US10YY, CAD). Not prepared to risk what I have already locked in so have stopped trading for the year. If ever there was a time to be "kiasu", this is it for me.

Also think it is pointless for me to blog about markets if I am not actively engaged so blog posts will be few and far between for the rest of the year. This way I can start next year with a completely fresh perspective.
  • Eg of chart highlighting possible end of trend = AUD/USD.
  • Monthly : Back below 0.9849 = false upside break.
  • Weekly : UpTL broken.
  • Daily : SHS top.
  • I should really be shorting this but fear of ruining a decent 2010 is keeping me out of markets. Ah well. As I said before, a positive 2010 takes precedent over everything else after a down year in 2009. The market will always be here for me.
Best of luck to all readers.

With the benefit of hindsight, it has turned out to be a wise decision. I would have been killed in the AUD (and others) once on the way down and again on Friday after the NFP. Thank God for Rule #12.
